Man cut during fight at Fayetteville gas station

Fayetteville police said a man was cut on the chest during a fight at a BP Gas Station Saturday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police said a man was cut on the chest during a fight at a BP Gas Station Saturday. 

Officers responded to 1899 Skibo Road about 4 p.m. in reference to a report that an individual had been cut. When police arrived they found that Christopher Thomas, 29,  had gotten into a fight with Darren Burgess, 50. Police said when the fight began to escalate, Burgess pulled out a box cutter and cut Thomas across the chest. 

Thomas was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. 

Officers took Burgess into custody and was being processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center.
