Man charged with shooting 3 at party

Police on Sunday arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly shooting three people at a party earlier in June.

SANFORD, N.C. — Police on Sunday arrested a 21-year-old man for allegedly shooting three people at a party earlier in June.

Investigators said that Tyrone Anthony Smith, of 606 Moore St., fired a gun at a party at Boykin's Avenue and Booker Street on Thursday, June 12. Two women and man were injured.

Smith faces three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

He was being held under a $65,000 bond on Monday morning.

Smith was convicted in 2004 of assault and misdemeanor breaking-and-entering charges stemming from two incidents. He served 30 days for violating that probation in 2006.
