Man charged with murder in connection with Raleigh shooting

A 35-year-old man arrested in connection with a Dec. 28 shooting at 18 Fisher St. has been charged with murder, Raleigh police said Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A 35-year-old man arrested in connection with a Dec. 28 shooting at 18 Fisher St. has been charged with murder, Raleigh police said Saturday. 

According to investigators, Tyrone David Stewart shot Zollie Leroy Jones Jr., 23, about 9 p.m. on Dec. 28. Jones was taken to WakeMed with serious injuries and died Tuesday, police said. 

Police said Jones and Stewart knew each other and that the shooting wasn't a random act. No other information was immediately available. 

Stewart was in the Wake County jail Saturday.
