RALEIGH, N.C. — A Greensboro man faces accusations that he groped a woman in a bathroom stall at a Raleigh bar Friday, according to an arrest warrant.

The warrant states that Michael Preston Wood, 26, hid in a stall in a bar at 625 E. Whitaker Mill Road. When a woman entered the bathroom, he grabbed her crotch, police said.

The warrant does not specify where in Raleigh the incident took place.

Wood, of 405 W. Greenway Drive North in Greensboro, was charged with sexual battery. He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $10,000 secured bond.

Police asked for a higher bond because they feel that Wood poses a threat to the general public.

"He was lying in wait in a bathroom stall for any victim to enter the area," police wrote in court papers.

Wood has a single previous conviction for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in 2004, according to state Department of Correction records.
