Man Charged With DWI After Car Overturns on N.C. Highway 98

A man was charged with DWI after he crashed his car Monday afternoon in Durham County, said the state Highway Patrol.

DURHAM — A man was charged with DWI after he crashed his car Monday afternoon in Durham County, said the state Highway Patrol.

David Rigsbee, 58, was driving east on N.C. Highway 98 near Baptist Road when he lost control of his car, the Highway Patrol said. The vehicle ran off the highway, hit a tree and overturned.

Rigsbee was life-flighted to Duke University Hospital where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

He was later charged with DWI and driving with a revoked license.

There were no other people inside the vehicle.
