Man charged with DWI after 3-vehicle accident in Raleigh

A person was charged with driving while impaired Wednesday morning after causing a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 440, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man who police believe was driving drunk caused a three-vehicle accident Wednesday morning, officers said.

The driver was traveling westbound onto Interstate 440 from Capital Boulevard and hit a semi-truck around 12:30 a.m., police said.

The driver swerved and hit a Jeep, which was merging onto I-440.

The driver was arrested and charged with DWI and improper lane change. He sustained minor injuries.

The drivers of the semi-truck and Jeep were not injured.
