Man charged with arson that injured Silk Hope firefighter

Marcus Nettles was injured while fighting a mobile home fire at 1110 Siler City Snow Camp Road in Siler City. He was treated at Chatham Hospital and released.

SILER CITY, N.C. — A man believed to be homeless was charged with setting the fire that injured a Silk Hope firefighter on June 6.

Marcus Nettles was injured while fighting a mobile home fire at 1110 Siler City Snow Camp Road in Siler City. He was treated at Chatham Hospital and released.

After an investigation involving fire and police personnel, Dennis Ray Green, 45, was charged with felonious first degree arson. He was held on $20,000 secured bond in the Chatham County Jail. He was scheduled to appear in Pittsboro District Court on July 14.
