Man charged in Fayetteville homicide

Police charged a man Friday in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in a vacant lot in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police charged a man Friday in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in a vacant lot in Fayetteville.

Lindsey Lamark McDowell, 19, of Bryan Street, was charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The body of Damon Terrell Bryant, 36, of Central Drive, was found Tuesday morning in the area of Robeson Street near Commerce Street. He had been shot.

Police didn't release other details, such as a possible motive for the killing or what evidence connects McDowell to the crime.
