Man charged in Fayetteville bank robbery

Police on Friday made an arrest in connection with a Tuesday morning bank robbery.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police on Friday made an arrest in connection with a Tuesday morning bank robbery.

Demarcus Dashon Piphus, 18, of Essex Place in Fayetteville, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

A man entered the Bank of America branch at 324 Mason St. Tuesday morning, demanded money from a teller and fled, police said.

No information was provided regarding how police linked Piphus to the crime or how and where he was arrested.
