DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man was charged Tuesday in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian last weekend.

Omar Bryant Travis, 30, was arrested on a felony charge of hit-and-run, according to Durham police. He was held on $10,000 bond.

The incident happened about 2:30 a.m. Sunday when Israel Lopez, 34, of Durham, was hit by a car while walking in the 2900 block of Holloway Street.

Police said they found the four-door sedan that hit Lopez later than morning in a Food Lion parking lot a few miles away. It's unclear whether the car was stolen.
