Man Charged in Credit Union Robbery

Police were searching Monday for a man who robbed a credit union in Durham last week.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police were searching Monday for a man who robbed a credit union in Durham last week.

A man entered the State Employees Credit Union at 3808 Guess Road at about 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 9, police said. He had a large handgun and demanded money from bank personnel, police said.

James Branson Mainor Jr., 29, of Lorain Avenue, has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of stolen goods and possession of a stolen firearm in connection with the robbery. But he wasn't in custody Monday.
