HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — A man has been arrested and charged in a September incident where a person was shot in the face.

Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Jermaine Andrew Ramsey, 36, on Saturday at PIedmont Triad International Airport after receiving information from U.S. Customs and Border Protection that he had booked a flight from Greensboro to LaGuardia Airport in New York. He's charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Officials said on Sept. 5, Jarrid Brooks, 42, a longtime friend of Ramsey, was shot in the face with a .40 caliber gun. Investigators believe Ramsey, 36, and Brooks got into an argument.

The magistrate set Ramsey's bond at $200,000. His next court date is Oct. 7 in Orange County.
