Man charged after person found dead in Fayetteville

A 24-year-old man was arrested after Fayetteville police say he fatally shot a man.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 24-year-old man was arrested after Fayetteville police say he fatally shot a man.

Raekwon Lamaar Ravi Boykin was charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said Markel Lee Gerald, 26, of Fayetteville, was found dead of apparent gunshot wounds around 3 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Davis Street.

Boykin was held in the Cumberland County jail without bond.
