Man burned in crash with 18-wheeler in Raleigh

A UPS employee was seriously burned when his car slammed into an 18-wheeler in a company parking lot in Raleigh early Saturday, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A UPS employee was seriously burned when his car slammed into an 18-wheeler in a company parking lot in Raleigh early Saturday, police said.

The man was coming into work around 4:45 a.m. when he crashed into the truck, which was parked at 2100 Singleton Industrial Drive, police said. The car caught on fire, but the blaze was put out by firefighters.

The man, whose name wasn't released, was taken to the North Carolina Jaycees Burn Center at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Police said he is expected to survive.
