Man, baby pulled out of burning car after crash in Johnston County

Both were taken to WakeMed.

A man and his baby were pulled out of a burning car in Johnston County on Sunday night.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers said the man was swerving and nearly hit an oncoming car head on.

Troopers said the man’s car then spun out of control, crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

The baby in the car the car was partially ejected. Troopers said this might have actually saved the baby's life.

The driver who was nearly struck by the swerving car and two other drivers helped pull the man and the baby out of the car.

Both were taken to WakeMed in Raleigh.

Troopers said charges are pending against the driver who was injured.
