Man Arrested on Burglary, Kidnapping Charges

Goldsboro, N.C. — Wayne County sheriff's investigators arrested a man on charges of first-degree burglary and first-degree kidnapping, authorities said Monday.
Leanard Deshea Middleton, 24, of 1530 Indian Springs Road in Mount Olive, was the third and last suspect to be arrested in an August 2007 burglary and kidnapping on Old Mount Olive Highway.
Middleton who faces one count of burglary and two counts of kidnapping, was in the Wayne County jail Monday under a $50,000 bond.
The homeowner shot one of the suspects, Antoine”Mook” Chestnut, who died at the scene, authorities said. Two other suspects, James C. Smith and Kayleo L. Middleton, have been arrested and charged for the incident.
