CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police on Tuesday arrested a man wanted on a nearly two-year-old arrest warrant for felony indecent liberties with a minor.

Investigators had named Carlton Dean Hilliard, 49, as a suspect in a 2009 case in which a 12-year-old girl was allegedly fondled in her home. At the time, Hilliard lived in Chapel Hill and was in a relationship with the victim's mother, police said.

Hilliard had since moved to 24915 N.C. Highway 561 in Enfield and gotten work as a janitor, police said. Chapel Hill officers arrested him on Pritchard Avenue Extension, at Umstead Drive, shortly before midnight Tuesday.

He was placed in the Orange County jail under a $15,000 secured bond.
