KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — Police arrested a Raleigh man accused of stealing cash and cigarettes during armed robberies of two Knightdale convenience stores in June.

Raphael Davonne Powell, 24, of 1801 Charles St., was arrested late this week and charged with two counts of armed robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The arrest report says that Powell held up the Knightdale Family Fare BP station on June 15. He showed a gun and made off with $338 from the cash register, as well as some cigarettes.

Powell was accused of displaying a gun and threatening employees at Tony's Quick Mart two days later. The arrest report says he stole $330 from employees and the cash register.
