Man arrested in Raleigh nightclub shooting that left 2 injured

Raleigh police arrested a man Tuesday in connection to a shooting in the parking lot of Club Amnesia that left two injured on March 10, authorities said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested a 41-year-old man Tuesday in connection to a shooting in the parking lot of Club Amnesia that left two injured on March 10, authorities said.

Jameel El-Amin Williams, of Raleigh, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, discharging a firearm into occupied property and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The shooting was reported shortly after 4 a.m. in the club's parking lot, located at 1606 N. Market Drive.

Police said the two victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Another shooting was reported at the club last year during an incident in which three people were hurt.

Williams was previously convicted of second degree murder in Burke County, which is near Asheville.
