Man arrested in meth lab bust

Wayne County sheriff's deputies arrested a 51-year-old man Thursday on charges that he operated a meth lab out of his Seven Springs home.

SEVEN SPRINGS, N.C. — Wayne County sheriff's deputies arrested a 51-year-old man Thursday on charges that he operated a meth lab out of his Seven Springs home.

George Nelson Tripp, of 1968 Pineview Cemetery Road, was charged with one count of manufacturing methamphetamine. He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $225,000 secured bond.

Investigators said they found an active, clandestine lab at Tripp's house during a search. The State Bureau of Investigation assisted at the crime scene.
