Southern Pines police on Tuesday announced the arrest of a suspect in a 2009 shooting death.

<b>SOUTHERN PINES, N.C.</b> — Southern Pines police on Tuesday announced the arrest of a suspect in a 2009 shooting death.

Antonio Lamont McKeithan, 37, faces a first-degree murder charge in the July 30, 2009, killing of Daniek Davon Burns, 20. Both men were from the Moore County town.

Police said Burns was shot in the chest near 330 S. Stephens St.

McKeithan has been denied bond and placed in the Moore County jail. His first court appearance is set for March 21.

He has convictions for assault, carrying a concealed weapon and drug use dating to 1993, state Department of Correction records show.
