Man arrested for posing as car salesman in five counties
A Cumberland County man was arrested Monday and charged with selling 21 vehicles in five counties last year without being licensed by the state, according to arrest warrants.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Cumberland County man was arrested Monday and charged with selling 21 vehicles in five counties last year without being licensed by the state, according to arrest warrants.
Marshall Dale McClenny, 39, of 4455 George Bain Lane in Wade, is accused of posing as a motor vehicle dealer and selling used cars in Harnett, New Hanover, Sampson, Robeson and Cumberland counties, the warrants state.
The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles license and theft department investigated McClenny on car sales throughout 2010 to a total of 11 women, five men and five dealerships or salvage yards.
