Man arrested after firing gun from moving vehicle in Moore County

One person was arrested following a road rage incident Wednesday night in Moore County.

ABERDEEN, N.C. — One person was arrested following a road rage incident Wednesday night in Moore County.

According to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, a person driving on U.S. Highway 15-501 near Pinebluff Lake Road dialed 911 after they saw a man fire a handgun into the air from a moving vehicle.

Authorities said the caller gave 911 dispatchers the license plate number and description of the vehicle and driver, allowing authorities to quickly locate Ralph Douglas Currie Jr.

Currie, 55, of Flatrock Road, was charged with going armed to the terror of the public and communicating threats.

Authorities did not say what prompted Currie to fire the weapon.
