18-year-old arrested after carjacking, armed robbery leads to police chase in Raleigh

Police said shots were fired at a BP on Capital Boulevard which led to a pursuit between the suspect and officers.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh Police Department is investigating a carjacking and armed robbery along Capital Boulevard Saturday that led to a crash.

Police said shots were fired at a BP on Capital Boulevard which led to a pursuit between the suspect and officers.

Police said the suspect, 18-year-old Christopher Deon Richardson crashed not far away on Springhouse Lane. Richardson was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the incident. The victim and suspect were not known to one another and the vehicle has been recovered.

There have been no injuries reported stemming from the incident.
