Man, 30, killed in Spring Lake shooting

A 30-year-old Spring Lake man died early Saturday after being shot in the 400 block of D Street, police said.

SPRING LAKE, N.C. — A 30-year-old Spring Lake man died early Saturday after being shot in the 400 block of D Street, police said. 

Officers responding to a shooting call at about 1:30 a.m. found Cary Terell McLean lying the front yard of 418 D. St. after being confronted by a large group of people, Police Chief Troy A. McDuffie said in a statement. McLean had been shot once in the upper body. 

According to investigators, the shooting may have been connected to an earlier argument between McLean and multiple suspects. 

Spring Lake police said Saturday morning that several persons of interest are being interviewed. They also asked for the public's help in identifying and locating two people who are known as "Tweet" and "Que."

Detectives are also searching for a person who was driving a white Chevrolet Impala that was seen in the area at the time of the shooting.
