Drivers in Pasadena are about to be disappointed, but cyclists and pedestrians are stoked: Los Angeles concrete companies are getting set to turn the city's car-friendly roads into a cycling and pedestrian-centered haven. Like many parts of Southern California, Pasadena is a very car-heavy locale, with numerous residents relying solely on cars as a way to get around. As the city has grown, traffic has increased, degrading quality of life and causing environmental problems.

To promote foot and bicycle traffic, the city is creating more bicycle lanes, along with tiny parks for members of the public to enjoy. Between the landscaping and the concrete work, Pasadena could be getting quite the facelift...and thanks to the safety improvements, it will be a much more pleasant place to opt for leaving the car keys at home.
