People worldwide were reporting having trouble connecting to internet services Sunday morning.

CenturyLink's core network crashed at 6 a.m. A couple hours later, CenturyLink tweeted that the outage has been restored.

"We understand how important these services are to our customers, and we sincerely apologize for the impact this outage caused," the tweet said at 11 a.m.

The outage was experienced all across the world, because CenturyLink is among one of the largest internet service providers in the world.

Even though you may not have CenturyLink internet, locations you were trying to get to -- like video streaming services -- were likely inaccessible or slow Sunday morning. You could have seen the service load and then crash.

Popular services that were impacted by this outage, for example were Hulu, the Playstatoin Network, Xbox live, Discord and dozens of other services.

Cloudfare, an internet company that provides security, also reported having problems Sunday morning due to CenturyLink's outage. Cloudfare's outage took dozens of websites and online services down with it.

During the outage, global internet traffic dropped 3.5%, according to Cloudfare's CEO Matthew Prince.

The issue originated in CenturyLink's data center in Mississauga, a city in Canada.
