Since we last heard from Karen Campbell of Karen Campbell Creations, she's been busier than ever.

Karen Campbell is next in our Made by Mom Gift Guide, your guide to unique gifts made by local moms (and one dad). Campbell is a mom of three in Apex and owner of Karen Campbell Creations, a custom painting business.
I featured Campbell back in October. And she tells me she's busier than she's ever been. She got her start a few years ago as she created custom artwork for her newborn son's nursery. Pretty soon, she was giving her pieces to friends and family. Three years ago, she turned it into a business when the family moved to the Triangle.
Now her work is on display at GreenPea Baby in Apex and The Eclectic Furniture Garden in Raleigh. She doesn't claim to be high art just art that she would hang on her walls at an affordable price. Most of her projects are less than $100 (though it varies widely).
In addition to paintings for kids rooms, she's also branched out into simple name plates or canvas plaques, great for kids rooms; plates or plaques with a family's name; custom growth charts; artwork with favorite quotations; and more.
