Lynda Loveland: Frugal February
Lynda plans to ignore the endcaps at Target and the drugstore makeup aisle and live frugally this month. Are you with her?
Posted — UpdatedAfter a while the conversation turned to shopping. Monica and I both enjoy the thrill of the hunt. We love a good deal or at least as close as we can get. But we got to talking about stuff we buy that we just don’t really need. Not high dollar stuff. It’s the little stuff that hooks you and adds up. For instance, the aisle endcaps at Target. DANGEROUS! Walking into the drugstore to get a prescription and leaving with lip gloss or hand lotion or a magazine or, or, or, or.
Well, we’ve decided to nip it in the bud.
Monica and I are living frugally for the month of February. That means we buy only what we NEED. NEED not WANT. It’s a fine line and it can be very fuzzy. This new found frugality applies to every one in the family, at least everyone affected by my cash-ola. I’m cutting back on groceries, kid stuff and grownup stuff. The family pets are not exempted.
Monica and I are keeping track of stuff we want to buy but didn’t and will compare our unfulfilled wish lists at the months’ end. It’s no accident we chose February, shortest month of course. We’re only human/female.
You up for a challenge???
