It’s hard to believe there are kids in our area who have nothing to eat over the weekend, but it’s true. They get free or reduced meals at school, but when school is over, so is their meal.
That’s where the Backpack Buddies program comes in. Kids home on Friday with a backpack containing six balanced meals and two healthy snacks to get them through till Monday. We do this all year long and we need your help to continue and help even more children.
Mix 101.5 and Interfaith Food Shuttle are teaming up 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday for our annual Backpack Buddies Food Drive. We’ll be at two locations Thursday, Crabtree Valley Mall and Crossroads Plaza in Cary. We’d love to have kid-friendly non-perishable food, back packs or a monetary donation. If you can’t stop by, here’s a link to donate.
A big thank you for helping!
