A new poster campaign from Worldwide Breast Cancer uses lemons to help women understand what to look for in a self-exam and the various forms that breast cancer can take.

The organization describes its mission as "unlocking the potential of visuals to tackle problems with breast cancer."

The poster, of a dozen lemons in a egg container, details the texture and visual changes breast cancer can create beyond a simple lump.

"Know your lemons," the campaign advises.

With its outer peel and softer interior speckled with seeds, a lemon can serve as a stand-in for the breast, where skin covers muscle and fatty tissue that can be disrupted by harder lymph nodes and lumps.
