LUMBERTON, N.C. — A Lumberton woman is accused of using a mop to set her house on fire.

Authorities said Polly Harrison, 52, of the 5700 block of Barker Ten Mile Road, was fighting with her boyfriend and his mother over some utility bills on Wednesday night. During the fight, Harrison piled all of her boyfriend's clothes in the front yard and lit them on fire.

Authorities said Harrison poked the fire with a mop, which then caught fire. She then held the mop to the corner of the home she and her boyfriend shared, authorities said.

Authorities said Harrison, who was intoxicated, ran back inside and had to be dragged out.

Emergency crews put out the fires before they did serious damage to the home.

Harrison is charged with second-degree arson, felony burning of personal property and obstructive delay. Her bond was set at $5,000.
