— Lumberton police were investigating at the scene of a drive-by shooting where two people were injured Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the intersection of Freedom Drive and Prevatte Street around 2:30 p.m. after a call of shots fired. They found two people who had been shot. An investigation determined the two were among a group of four or five outside when a dark-colored vehicle drove by and opened fire.

The two people who were injured did not appear to have serious injuries, police said. Both were taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
