Michael Chuang, 39, died after being shot at the intersection of Clewis Street and Muller Drive around 10 p.m. on March 19, Lumberton police Lt. Johnny Barnes said. Chuang was in the midst of an argument stemming from a long-standing dispute with his neighbors, Barnes said.

Chuang's 15-year-old son was also shot. He was treated and released from Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Jimmy Douglas Tilley, 31, of 211 E Ave., was arrested at his home Thursday afternoon. The 12-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was taken into custody by juvenile authorities. Barnes said two teen boys – a 14-year-old and 15-year-old – were also arrested in the shooting death. Their names were not released.

The boys are charged with the same crimes as Tilley, except for possession of a firearm by a felon.

Barnes said the 12-year-old boy and Tilley were friends.
