RALEIGH, N.C. — It will finally feel like spring this week as temperatures climb into the 60s and 70s and as Daylight Saving Time brings us longer, lighter evenings.

The clocks "jumped forward" at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, causing the sun to set later than we're used to -- around 7:20 p.m. on Monday.

The first day of spring is still nine days away, but temperatures will stay in the 60s and 70s for much of the work week, according to WRAL meteorologist Gardner.

With temperatures in the upper 50s before sunrise, Monday morning was at least 10 degrees warmer than the same time on Sunday, said Gardner.

Spring-like temperatures will last for the entire work week, with high temperatures in the upper 60s Monday and the lower 60s for Tuesday and Wednesday. A chance for rain won't come again until Friday, which will be one of the warmest days of the week, with a high around 72 degrees.

The weekend will be cooler, but still warm, with highs in the upper 50s.

Are warmer temperatures finally here to stay? It's possible, according to WRAL meteorologists, but it's too soon to know for sure.
