We all know that gift cards make great gifts, and right now you can score a little extra bonus for yourself when you buy gift cards from specific retailers and restaurants. If you shop at any of these retailers or eat at any of these restaurants throughout the year, you may consider buying some of the gift cards for yourself and get the extra bonus cards while they are available. Think about upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, and other celebrations where you go out to eat.
The way it works is that you buy participating gift cards and get some kind of promotional benefit – usually another smaller gift card or free food voucher.
Here’s a warning: many of the bonus gift cards have restrictions including when you can use them. Some are only good for the month of January, for instance. Be sure to read all the fine print before deciding on which gift cards to purchase.
For instance, at the Cheesecake Factory: Get a FREE slice of cheesecake for every $25 gift card you purchase! But, you can’t use the freebie voucher until January 1 and it’s good through March 30, 2014.
