So here's another reason to go loco for Locopops.
The Triangle's popular (and I'm guessing only?) gourmet ice pop maker unveiled their new Locopints on Friday, which are pints of ice cream and sorbet.
Summer Bicknell, Locopops' founder who traveled to Mexico to learn how to make her popular pops, spent part of this past winter at Penn State Creamery Ice Cream School to learn how to make homemade ice cream. The ice cream school has been teaching students how to make ice cream from "cow to cone" for more than 100 years.
"It's the same great flavors we're known for, packed into a pint," she says.
Mexican Chocolate Ice Cream and Mojito Sorbet are the debut flavors. Additonal flavors will be available weekly.
Locopops, which opened in 2005, has four locations - two in Chapel Hill, one in Raleigh and one in Durham. Products also are sold at some area stores.
