Tom Nobles, a recent UNC-Charlotte graduate who ran cross country, made it to the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in Atlanta. Unlike most Olympic sports, the marathon event allows for more amateur participation thanks to a target time of 2 hours and 19 minutes at qualifying races. Nobles joined the Runologie Podcast crew to talk about his training, his experience at the trials, and what it’s like to run in Nike’s controversial AlphaFly shoes.
