Two local psychologists with autistic kids of their own will be hosting a free virtual summit next week that's aimed at providing parents with information to better support their children with autism.

The Autism Summit features an impressive list of speakers, including experts and providers who support the autism community and people with autism, including Dr. Temple Grandin, a renowned author and animal sciences expert who has autism.

During the five-day event, registered participants will get access to a variety of pre-recorded interviews that cover different topics, including identifying autism, therapeutic approaches, social skills and emotional health, school and learning and parenting and promoting independence.

Dr. Emily King, a licensed psychologist and former school psychologist, and Dr. Holly Blanc Moses, a psychologist, behavior expert and author, are hosting the event. Both work with children locally.

"We'll have over 37 experts and many of them are from the Triangle," Moses tells me.

More information about the program and what's planned is on the summit's website.

You can view each day's pre-recorded expert interviews for free from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., on the day they're released, starting on Oct. 13. Year-long access to the program is available for an early bird discount of $147. From Oct. 18 to Oct. 23, you can purchase it for $197.
