As Fortify construction crews prepare to begin a new phase of the massive project that will likely create long traffic delays on Interstate 40 in south Raleigh, local leaders in transportation and business are looking ahead to the future of local transit.

— A local planning group is asking for the public's input on helping devise a comprehensive, regional transportation plan that can reduce the number of vehicles with just one passenger inside.

The Durham Chapel Hill Carrboro Metropolitian Planning Organization is seeking input on their plan to reduce the number of single-occupant vehicles across the Triangle.

The plan includes a range of solutions, including using more carpools and transit to teleworking and flexible work weeks.
