RALEIGH, N.C. — Lisa McKay, WQDR-FM Program Director and Vice President of Curtis Media Group, passed away peacefully on Sunday after a brief battle with cancer.

“It is with very heavy hearts that we share the news of Lisa’s passing," Curtis Media Group President Trip Savery commented. "She had a tremendous and positive impact on so many people’s lives and careers and will be greatly missed by all of us."

WQDR 94.7, a local country music station, posted a page for Lisa on their website where friends, listeners and colleagues could share tributes and favorite memories of Lisa.

In January, country star and Garner native Scotty McCreery tweeted, "Praying for you Lisa. We're all in this with you," after McKay announced that she would be taking a leave of absence for health reasons.

According to WQDR, Lisa passionately worked to find homes for abandoned animals, and those who wish to honor her are asked to make a donation to a local animal shelter.
