APEX, N.C. — An Apex house fire was likely caused by a lightning strike on Thursday night, Fairview Fire Department Chief Ed Brinson said.

The fire at 4012 Gumleaf Drive in Apex was reported just before midnight. The fire was on the second-story of the home.

Firefighters were able to get it under control in about an hour, Brinson said.

No one was injured.

The fire caused about $250,000 in damage to the home.
