RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina leaf experts will be chronicling the sights of the fall throughout the state, according to the state Division of Tourism, Film and Sports Development.
Starting Monday, weekly leaf reports will be posted online by Howard Neufeld, with Appalachian State University, and Dick Thomas, with the Piedmont Environmental Center in High Point.

The men will give tips on the art and science of predicting fall color and suggestions on where to go and see the best color.

Fishing fan can also get reports from Cpt. Gary Dubiel, a fly-casting instructor and owner of Spec Fever Guide Services in Oriental.

Tourism officials said that the location of the Outer Banks and position of the Gulf Stream make the North Carolina coast an international fishing hot spot during the fall.
