Crystal Pier undergoes renovation
Crystal Pier, which was built in 1939 at Wrightsville Beach, is undergoing a renovation. Two hurricanes in 1996 badly damaged the landmark, which once stretched 900 feet over sand and ocean. Along with Johnny Mercer's Pier and the old Lumina Pavilion, Crystal Pier has been an integral part of beach life.
