Thank you for all of your wonderful close-up images in the Show Me Your Soul contest. It was truly a pleasure for me to put your macro images to music. I used a traditional track from my new Simple Beauty album. The Irish ballad Maid of Coolmore accompanies your wide range of evocative images.
Now the tough part. I had to pick a winner of the best macro shot. There were so many great ones. Each one of you made an intimate, artistic and unique expression. I am honored to review your individual works of art.
The winner made an interesting comment to me with her submissions. She called macro photography a stress reliever and "with two jobs, two kids and a husband, I need it." You can see Rosemary Blizzard's colorful water drop images at the beginning and end of the slideshow. Rosemary is a professional photographer from Kinston. I would love to learn her technique. Maybe we can persuade her to share some of her secrets for a future blog.
