I know how you love contests. Later today we will announce the winners of the NC TV Series Contest. But right now I have another contest question. The winner gets a CD copy of the recently released “Have a Holly Raleigh Christmas” album by Sir Walter Records. The album features 14 Christmas tunes recorded by Triangle area artists including one that I wrote called “Wintercolors.”

Here’s the question: When will WRAL Anchor/Reporter Valonda Calloway give birth and what will be the birth weight? Please give us a day and time of birth along with the weight. And feel free to offer a name suggestion for what will surely be a beautiful girl. The three people who come the closest to the exact moment of birth will win the CD.

Let me give you some background. Valonda’s due date was yesterday so a trip to the hospital could happen any time. “Val Cal Pal,” as I call her, is maintaining a great attitude. Valonda’s doctor says everything is fine and the baby will come when the baby is ready. Valonda thinks she’s waiting on warmer weather.

Raleigh friend Roger Wiggs emailed me this morning asking if the rumor were true that Valonda planned to give birth on the WRAL news set with Dr. Allen Mask handling the delivery. As Roger put it: “Now that’s coverage you can count on, buddy!” Sorry, Roger.  That rumor is not true but it all gave us a big laugh and we appreciate that.

Thanks for the playing the Val Cal Pal Guessing Game!
