This was really tough: picking a winner in the name contest for our new multi media project celebrating the beautiful places, colorful characters and cherished traditions across North Carolina.
Many of the entries were strong. I personally pegged "Where the Cardinal Flies" as my favorite. "Carolina Splendor" also struck a strong chord.
WRAL Multi Media Producer Nathan Clendenin and I went through the list and came up with our favorites. We consulted with John Conway and Ryan Miano in management.
After several days of sorting through the entries we decided it was important to have a name with a broad scope and yet one that is pretty simple, short and easy to remember.
The winner is: "Tar Heel Treasures. " It was submitted by "all taken." As promised I will send that person signed copies of my CDs "I Am a River, "Peaceful Journey" and "Christmas in Carolina." All I need is a name and address. You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thanks again to all of you for contributing.
