Thanks for all of the excellent suggestions for the new name of this blog. We plan to pick a winner this weekend or Monday at the latest. Feel free to offer a few more recommendations to replace the name "Tar Heel Traveler" to reflect a broader scope.
Second, I'd like to give a "shout out" to Apex High School. The National Honor Society inducted a fresh crop of members at AHS last night and I had the honor of speaking to them. I told them about my interview this week with CBS correspondent Kimberly Dozier and how inspired I have been by her amazing recovery from a serious bomb blast in Baghdad. I urged the students to think of Kimberly when they lose focus, feel like quitting or when they suffer a major setback in life. If we emulate the courage and conviction of heroes like Kimberly Dozier we will all lead better, more productive and helpful lives.
