I am thrilled about my latest news and music assignment. WRAL has asked me to co-host a two hour special in Beaufort on July 1 and compose music for the program. Capitol Broadcasting Company and WRAL-TV are media sponsors of the Americas’ Sail 2006. We will air a live broadcast of the Tall Ships parade from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. Some of the world's most spectacular ships will be part of this huge celebration beginning June 30 through July 5.
Visitors will have a chance to see majestic sailing vessels with towering masts and billowing sails. The public will also get an up-close view of these magnificent ships as part of a special maritime celebration hosted by the Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum.
Beaufort earned the right to host the event when Capt. Horatio Sinbad, a local pirate and sailing legend, won a race to Montego Bay, Jamaica during Americas' Sail 2002. His victory earned him the right to bring the tall ships gala to his home port of Beaufort.
Tickets will go on sale March 2. A general admission ticket will cost $30 for adults, $15 for children age 12 and under. Additional information is available at (252) 728-7471.
