I'm meteorologist, Amy Wilmoth in the WRL severe weather center, taking a look at how much rain we've had over the last couple of days and most of the rain has been just north of Durham or just south of Wake County. Wake County, about a trace to half an inch of rain in the last two days. But some areas where you see the purples and the reds over two inches over three inches and a couple of spots. So some decent rain for many of you over the last couple of days. And we've kind of caught up to where we need to be after a fairly dry April. So far this month, we've had over 3.5 inches of rain at RDU that puts us over an inch and a half above the normal for May so far. So far for 2024 we've had just over 15 inches. We're still down by a little less than half an inch, but we're really starting to see some improvements with our rainfall totals. Thanks to a few systems swinging through. One of those is the cold front that is now pushing east of us the cold front that you see west of us that's going to pass us by to the north. We're entering a fairly quiet weather pattern. After some morning drizzle. Today, we'll have mainly cloudy skies and we'll stay dry for the next few days. It's just a 20% chance for rain. It's mainly this morning with some drizzle. Maybe a light shower. No rain chances Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. And then as we get to the end of the week, rain chances will pick up about a 30% chance for rain on Friday, a 40% chance for rain and storms on Saturday. So we'll have a few days to dry out today. One of those drier days, we'll have mainly cloudy skies with a few peaks of sun. Later this, this afternoon at lunchtime, we're at 67 degrees and then our high temperature today up to 74. So really overall a pretty comfortable day. If you want to head to our exposure or maybe got to B and C any of the outdoor events, the weather is looking pretty good, although it might be a little damp this morning as you head out. So 74 for the high today and then overnight tonight, we'll have some patchy fog. We'll get down to 59 79 for the high Monday, partly cloudy skies expected mostly sunny Tuesday and Wednesday with high temperatures back in the eighties and then we up to 90 degrees for a high temperature Thursday and then scattered showers and storms return as we head into Friday and Saturday.
